My Only Weakness Is . . . Well, Never Mind, Never Mind

I have never in my life been a grade whore. In school, I always had a strict "just-happy-to-pass" policy. But, all that has changed since I've been back to school. Riding a tidal wave of A's felt good. Until last week, when I got an 87. I know what you're thinking: "Heidi, get a grip, that's a B+." And, you are right. But, for some reason I found the grade offensive, wrong, undeserved.

This week, I happily rebounded with another A, and my paper on the value of the question mark was so good, the professor asked me to share it with my fellow students. I'm back, baby! In a big way. I'm reading another piece in class tomorrow. I'm so hopeless.

Things are definitely looking up. After the last couple weeks, I was beginning to wonder if I had irreparably damaged my karma. But, the groundswell of crap has receded, for now. To that end, I have more happy news to share. My story, Past or Present, will soon be appearing at The Erotic Woman. Excessica has been kind enough to include my piece, Against the Current, in their upcoming anthology, Like Magnets, We Attract. And, finally, Xcite Books Ultimate Curves Anthology, celebrating women of a certain size, will feature my offering, Fashionably Late. I'll keep you posted on those as they become available.

Until then, I will be happily watching the return of the AFL regular season. The hot boys in shorts are back. I'm so glad.
