'Cause You Only Get Respect When You're Kickin' Ass

Jeez, is it really possible that there are only two days left in April. Gosh, this month really got away from me. The good news? My last two deadlines are on the chopping block and I'm actually going to be done!! It is almost unfathomable that I've done it. I know most people won't get how freakin' monumental this is for me, but this is my marathon. As I will never run 26.2 miles for any reason, this might be as close as I get.

So, two more little stories and I'm on to bigger and longer things. (Wow, that reads really dirty when you don't know what I'm talking about) To be clear, I'm starting on some longer novella/novel length pieces and I'm really excited about it. I've shied away from it until now, because, well, I don't honestly know why. Fear, I guess. What if I can't sustain a good story for 20k words? What if it is boring dreck? I don't know. But, I'll never know until I do. In the immortal words of Yoda: Do or do not. There is no try.

The picture, you ask? That is my kick-ass niece, getting ready to drop punt an AFL football. She is almost three and completely rocks. Doesn't that look of bold determination just make you want to take on the world? I know it makes me want to try harder. That looks says, "Nothing is going to stop me." And, nothing is going to stop us, my little BW!! Here's to meeting goals and kicking goals. And, to the endless possibilities that lie in front of all of us, be we three or thirty-three.

Oh, one more thing, if you haven't listened to my podcast interview with Dr. Dick yet, well, why the hell not? Go here and check it out!! Just a reminder, Part 2 drops May 3rd.

Ah, let's hear it for bigger and longer!

I've been avoiding my "novel" in progress (and why the hell do I have to put that in quotes?) for similarly unfathomable reasons. And yeah, deadlines, I'm still staring at them blankly. If you get my drift.

I'm with you, Robin. I'm still not sure how this whole process is going to go, but wish me luck.

Well, nose back to the grindstone.
