Sorry, I Cannot Hear You, I'm Kinda Busy

Once again, I'm tardy. My Man Candy always seems to be a day late. But, I swear I have a good excuse. All work and no play makes Heidi a dull girl. Well, not entirely dull, but let's say, distracted. So, to that end, I promise to do better. Or at least, attempt to do better.

If you've followed my blog at all, you know I love David Williams, NRL player for the Manly Sea Eagles. (could his team name be more apt? I think not.) Well, 'Wolfman' Williams suffered a break to his C6 vertebrae during a game this weekend. So, we here at my blog wish him a speedy recovery. Someone this delicious needs to be up and about, looking hot. Don't you agree?

I Build Myself Up and Fly Around in Circles

I always seem to be a day late with my Man Candy. I was away this weekend at the Mothership, and now that my man is back for good, I've been a little busy. There's a lot going on at the moment, including the slaying of my last WIP dragon. A little project turned into a bigger project and got a little out of control. But, I managed to wrestle the beast to the ground and the new novella will be arriving in November.

There's some other good news to report, but I'm holding off for now. Enjoy some Candy for now. I'll be back soon.

When It Comes To Me, I'm Gonna Be Ready

I'm getting so lax with my Man Candy duties. I have no one to blame but myself. So, I'm here today to make up for it. The WIP is now almost put to bed, which means I'm on to a new one.

Ah, isn't he lovely?

I Love It When You Give Me Things, You Ought to Give Me Wedding Rings

12 years ago on this day, I woke up early at my mother's house. There was a beautiful white dress hanging in the corner. I went to my good friend Marty's salon and had my hair done, to make sure that my veil looked just right. When I got home, a lovely delivery man brought me a dozen red roses. The card told me how much the man of my dreams was looking forward to being my husband.

I got into my dress and had my picture take a thousand times before the day even started. We piled in my uncle's conversion van and drove to the golf course where the whole party was going to happen. It was a hot day, but for some reason, despite the layers, I was surprisingly cool.

When it was finally time to get started, I walked up a flight of stairs and waited for my grand entrance. My nephew opened the door for me and I took my father's arm. We walked the eleven steps to the arch covered in flowers and vines. I gave him a kiss and took my man's hand, staring lovingly into his eyes. The mayor just started speaking when the thunder and lightening started. After that, the alarm that told all the golfers to get off the course.

After five minutes and a couple gold rings, we were married. The storm cleared up just in time for us to take one picture, silhouetted in the setting sun.

12 years later, it's still burned in my mind like yesterday. So many things were different then. Both our father's were still alive. We were twenty three-years old, with the whole world in front of us. But, one thing hasn't changed. It was, is and will always be the best day of my life.

I love you, Anthony. More than you'll ever know. Happy Anniversary!

But, Don't You Get Your Hopes Up High

It's a day late, but here is your Man Candy for the week. Things seem a bit better now, don't they?

And, The Feeling That It's All a Lot of Oysters, But No Pearls

(Please forgive this post, as it was written under major duress. Two in the Morning listening to really depressing songs. Sometimes, it's the only thing to do.)

Two. More. Weeks. That's how much longer I have to be without my man. This is getting really old. The weekends fly by so damn fast, then I have to watch him drive away from me again. It might be the most depressing sight on earth at the moment. That, and the empty spot in my bed where he should be.

So, I'll do Man Candy tomorrow, when I'm feeling up to it. But, for now, I wallow. *Bleh*

It's Not Faith If, If You Use Your Eyes

Three more weeks to go. That's how long my man has left of his training in NJ. It's hard to believe it's been five weeks already. I have a feeling these last fifteen work days are going to go by very slowly!

I guess I'll just have to console myself with some Man Candy! And, now I've got to get back to work.
